The French Bulldog is nicknamed Frenchie. Frenchies are excellent mouse hunters. French Bulldogs were bred from miniature English Bulldogs imported to France and crossed with French Terriers. One French Bulldog was lost in the sinking of the Titanic, and the dog was insured for the then huge sum of $750. The English were outraged that this breed became known as the French Bulldog.
