French Bulldogs do fine with older children and can usually be socialized to get along with other dogs. Some males may be aggressive toward other dogs. French Bulldogs are a good choice for apartment life and need to be guarded against extreme heat and freezing temperatures.

One French Bulldog was lost in the sinking of the Titanic, and the dog was insured for the then huge sum of $750. The English were outraged that this breed became known as the French Bulldog.
